The folks at the office say that
Agile is really the way to go but me being a newbie don't know really. We (the torch-bearers of hardware) never really had an exposure to
Waterfall anyway,so can't really judge which is better.Life is increasingly spent at meetings, trainings and presentations which is fine as long as you can sit somewhere where you can become invisible and snatch a wink or two.My strategy is to go for a little behind the middle seat so that I can still be at the back if the back-benchers ( seaters?) get called to the front.I am slowly getting addicted to
Excel and
Confluence-the wiki they use in our place.Life's little achievements consist of avoiding the maximum number of traffic lights by choosing bizzare driving routes, buying novels from shady second-hand books stores and by trying to eke out the most tax benefits by investing (planning to invest rather) in schemes which make you feel like that
masterji in some old Doordarshan era ad-"Samay samay par LIC ka premium bharna jaroori hai".I am really thinking of writing book reviews to make this mundane blog a little more exciting by posting scandalous ideas and in general antagonizing everyone.Yeah and book reviews are very subjective things(that's what writerscafe.org says about Book review guidelines)-so everything is an opinion and not fact.
If you think that you have a tech(or a science) bone in your body,
check out
boiledbeansA visual quiz a day complete with a scorecard .What fun! this is the first thing that I do in the morning at the office.

so how many traffic lights DO you manage to avoid in a day? and what about the famous b'lore potholes... how many of those do you manage to snag?
Hello, my name is Paroma Basu. I'm a foreign correspondent with an international science magazine and am based in New Delhi. I read your blog post at http://youthcurry.blogspot.com/2007/04/biotech-boom-but-where-are-jobs.html and was hoping i could get in touch with your sister or other friends who are pursuing or have already received biotech degrees in India.
Would like to ask a few questions for a news feature we are working on about the status of the biotech job market here.
Sorry for this strange way of getting in touch, but thought I would give it a shot. Would be great to hear back from you at pbasoo@gmail.com.
Thank you very much, best wishes--

@dhruva:Yes it does. :-) welcome to the blog.
@anon 1:I have managed to avoid 5 traffic lights on MG road by taking a quirky round-about route. Now I plan to avoid MG road entirely and no-no potholes-haven't encountered them so far.
@Saanjh- I am now perfectly at peace with my geekiness :-) I don't think I was that geeky in school.
@Som:I don't think we are growing wiser-only older!and yeah if you have tax saving investments-you end up getting more in hand. That being the primary motivation for all this s**t.
